قصتها || Her Story
Zainab is a free being of light and a dreamer artist, based in Michigan. She was born in Qatif, Saudi Arabia, in 1994. As soon as she was able to hold a pen as a child, she started drawing. Her passion for art let her explore her real self, and since no kids her age were around, colored pens and papers became her best friends.
She explored the realms or drawing, writing, and photography throughout the years. And at the age of 16, she spent her Summer in England, where she had her first experience with traveling independently and exploring photography, where she met her first mentor. Her passion for art and exploring led her to be the traveler that she is. Since then, she visited 18 countries as a tourist in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, and received her academic education in Saudi Arabia, England, and the U.S.
Zainab is a University of Michigan student, majoring in health sciences. Since she moved to Michigan, she recognized the importance of being part of the community, and started volunteering in student-based, and community events. In 2014, she decided to join Shop Floor Theatre Company where she was a part of the 2015 production: Immigrant U: Our Story Our Way. She filmed, acted, interviewed and recruited for this project, and with the effort of her team, she saw Immigrant U blooming. For three years, she worked as an International Student Ambassador, where she was able to document the international students' lives on camera, and assist them with their lives away from home. She went through an amazing journey of exploring her inner self, which resulted on publishing her first book, “For you are a Galaxy” in May 2017.
These experiences have helped Zainab develop a sincere focus to work with and support the natural environment that supports her. She has decided to take on a unique opportunity to translate promotional materials and courses from English into Arabic of a multinational Eco-friendly project based in California.
In 2018, Zainab created Niswa , a multimedia, bilingual platform for young women to take charge of their bodies, fertility, and health through FAM, while learning about the environmental impacts those choices hold.
